Kassel

On the North Eastern portion of the continent, Kassel is an ancient land that has risen time and again due to the nature of its geography and the strength and resilience of its people. The culture has changed over the millennia but only to make themselves less of a target from other species and cultures. Originally the center of one of the largest human empires, the Kassel people fought hard in the Mage War. They took the brunt of the damage from the mighty armies of Remkain. This eventually lead to their downfall and destruction. After the Mage War, the shattered remnants of the empire rebuilt themselves but fell prey to the militaristic nature of the old empire and fell again and again as petty warlords rose and fell. Eventually though a new emperor rose and reforged the mighty power of Kassel as an empire of man again. This time around they have embraced trade and multispecies / multicultural foreign affairs. They are still a mighty military power built around easily mobile armies and specialists, but they are a mighty economic power as well and have taken great lengths to utilize the vast mineral wealth in their mountains. The Empire of Kassel is one of strength, resiliency, ingenuity, and civic pride. The average citizen has fought or trained in the army and respects the greatness that the Empire has to offer everyone. (Think Rome) – Anyone from here gains the bonus to attack and AC like a dwarf versus all greenskins.

Capital city of Kassel is Kassel. This city is one of the oldest in the central lands. Originally founded thousands of years ago, Kassel has withstood, sieges, battles, revolts, changes in government and other perils but has always come out in one piece. Many say that beneath the city lies the bones of other cities that the current one built itself over, and some make a living delving into those depths, but surely there is nothing dangerous in those hidden reaches. Kassel is a city built on simple ideals and has lasted because of its location at the tops of the cliffs of Kassel and its nearly unscalable walls. Other cities of note include Ostia, the current city hosting the headquarters of the Sebitti, and a city known for its goat cheeses. That sounds strange, but truly they make a fortune on the quality and flavor that is unique to them. Emesa, the watch tower, is a city on the coast that was built to watch the seas for incoming attacks against Kassel. This city has stood for a thousand years and has a rich history of art and sculpture, what else are you going to do while you watch the seas for enemies. Barduli, the city on the point, rests on the closest point to the mainland. Most traffic coming into Kassel from the mainland that does not come directly into Kassel harbor comes through this city. That makes it on of strategic value and quite wealthy. Danum, the city of hills, is the last city in the small area of none mountainous terrain before entering into the heart of Kassel.
